Who is responsible for your data?

This policy covers the MyPsalms iOS app and mypsalms.app. The publisher and contact details appear below. You can contact the publisher with questions or requests about your data.

02

What stays on your device

Preferences, saved Psalms, history, progress and journal entries are stored locally by the app. The body of your journal is not sent to the recommendation service or usage analytics.

Daily reminders are optional. If you enable them, iOS asks for notification permission; you can withdraw it in your device settings.

03

Recommendations and reflection help

To recommend a Psalm, the app sends the selected language, mood, purposes and, only if you enter it, the short description of your situation to the server. This information is used to prepare your recommendation and identify situations that need supportive guidance. Avoid including other people’s names or contact details.

The service uses Google Gemini to prepare reflections and prayers. Reflection help uses the Psalm and mood context, not the body of your journal. Scripture comes from our catalog rather than this service. Your situation text and journal text are not recorded in usage analytics.

These inputs may reveal religious beliefs or personal information. Entering them is optional: you can read Psalms and keep a local journal without describing your situation.

04

Anonymous identity and subscriptions

No registration is required. A technical installation identifier and an internal identifier manage free access, authorize requests and associate Premium rights. These identifiers are pseudonymous; they are not a promise of absolute anonymity.

Apple handles payment. RevenueCat and our server receive transaction identifiers, the purchased product, dates and subscription status to activate, restore and verify Premium. MyPsalms does not receive your payment card details.

05

When do you choose a cloud copy?

A journal entry is sent to the cloud only if you enable ‘Save a copy in the cloud · Premium’ and have an active subscription. The copy includes the title, text, Psalm reference, optional mood and associated dates. Access requires an authorized internal identity and a server-verified subscription.

You can import your cloud copies from the journal with Premium. An expired subscription blocks access but does not automatically delete existing copies. Deleting the app from your device does not delete server data either.

06

Providers and the website

Cloudflare hosts our server, cloud data and audio files. Google processes the recommendation requests described above. Apple and RevenueCat manage purchases and access rights. Vercel hosts the website. These providers may process data in different countries according to their infrastructure and terms.

The website offers a local demonstration: it does not send your mood to the recommendation service or create a journal. We do not integrate advertising cookies or tracking SDKs on it. Hosting providers may process technical information, including IP addresses, request times and browser information, to deliver and secure the service.

If you email support, we use your address and message to respond. Do not send your journal, Apple password or payment information.

07

Purposes, retention and security

We use necessary data to provide requested features, manage subscriptions and support, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations. Where applicable law requires consent, you can withdraw it by stopping use of the optional feature and requesting deletion of previously submitted data.

Local data stays on your device until deleted. Cloud copies remain on the server until deleted; they are not automatically erased when Premium expires. Subscription, security and support records are retained as long as needed for the stated purposes and applicable obligations. We do not promise immediate deletion of every backup or legally required record.

API requests use HTTPS and cloud access requires server authorization. No connected service can guarantee absolute security.

08

Your choices and rights

In Settings → Delete Journal, you can delete local entries and request deletion of their associated cloud copies, including after Premium expires. Cloud deletion requires an internet connection. If the app reports a failure, try again; local deletion alone does not confirm server deletion.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, export, deletion or restriction of processing, object to processing or withdraw consent. Contact us with information that identifies your request without sharing passwords. Because the app has no account system, we may need to verify the connection to your installation or purchase.

You can also complain to your competent data protection authority, including the CNIL in France.

09

Changes to this policy

The update date appears at the top of this page. We will publish changes here and notify users when a significant change to data processing requires it.

A question? Let’s talk.
